Who these terms are with

MeetingScribe is operated by Sugarpine Property Management LLC, a limited liability company registered in Colorado, United States, trading as SugarPinePM ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. There is no account to close and nothing to cancel: stopping is simply a matter of not using it.

What the service is

MeetingScribe converts audio to text inside your own browser, on your own device, and produces transcripts, speaker labels, and subtitle files from it. It is provided free of charge and funded by advertising. There is no paid tier, no account, and no billing.

It is provided as is and as available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, available at any particular time, or compatible with any particular device or browser, and we may change or discontinue it.

Accuracy is not guaranteed

Automatic transcription makes mistakes, and speaker labels are best effort. We do not warrant that any transcript is accurate or complete, and you are responsible for reviewing and correcting results before relying on them. This matters particularly if you intend to quote, file, or make a decision based on a transcript. See our disclaimer.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what you put into the tool. You agree not to use it to:

• Transcribe a recording you do not have the legal right to use, or that was made without the consent the law requires. Recording and consent rules vary by state and country, and some require every participant to agree. Confirming this is your responsibility, not ours, and we have no way to know how a file was obtained.
• Infringe anyone's copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.
• Break the law, or harm, harass, or deceive anyone.
• Attempt to disrupt the site, circumvent its limits, or use automated means to overload it.

Your content stays yours

Your audio and the transcripts you produce belong to you. Because processing happens on your device, we never receive them and we claim no rights over them whatsoever. You may use your transcripts for any lawful purpose, including commercially.

Our content

The site, the MeetingScribe name, its written guides, and its code are owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not give you rights to them beyond using the service as intended. The tool relies on third-party open-source models and libraries, which remain subject to their own licences.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, nor for any loss of data, profits, business, or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the service, including any reliance on the accuracy of a transcript.

Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to use it, which is nothing, or 50 US dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

No professional relationship

Using MeetingScribe does not create any professional relationship between you and us, and the site does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. The tool is designed for confidential workflows because your audio stays on your device. That is a description of how it is built, not a claim to any certification, and it does not discharge any compliance obligation you have.

Privacy and advertising

What we collect, and what your browser talks to, is set out in our privacy policy and cookie policy. In short: we never receive your audio or transcripts, and advertising cookies load only if you accept them.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top reflects the last revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Colorado have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws in your own country or state of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there where the law gives you that right.

General

If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the privacy and cookie policies, are the entire agreement between us about the service.
