Step one: transcribe on your device

- Turn on speaker separation so each person's turns are labeled.
- Transcribe, then rename the speakers and clean up any wording in the editor.
Step two: generate the minutes
Click Copy notes prompt. That copies your transcript along with a set of instructions that ask for a short summary, the key discussion points, and a list of action items with owners. Paste it into an AI chat you already use, and you get clean minutes back. The prompt tells the AI to use only the transcript and not to invent anything, so the minutes stay grounded in what was actually said.
Why teams use this
It keeps sensitive meeting audio off third-party servers, it is free, and it produces a consistent format every time. For long meetings, the browser is most reliable up to about forty minutes per file, so record in segments or split a long file into parts named in order, and they join into one transcript.

- How do I get minutes, not just a transcript?
- First transcribe the recording here. Then use the Copy notes prompt button, which puts your transcript plus clear instructions on your clipboard. Paste that into any AI chat and you get a summary, key points, and action items. Only the text is sent, never the audio.
- Will the audio be uploaded?
- No. Transcription runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us. If you choose to generate minutes with an outside AI chat, only the transcript text goes to that service, and that is your choice.
- Can it label who said what?
- Yes. Turn on speaker separation and rename the speakers, so the minutes can attribute decisions and action items to the right people.
- Is it free?
- Transcription is free with no signup. A one-click AI minutes feature is planned as a paid convenience later, but the copy-and-paste route is free.
