The short version
MeetingScribe is built so your audio never leaves your device. When you transcribe a file with the free tool, the recording is processed inside your own browser. We do not receive your audio, we do not store it, and there is no account to create.
What we do not collect
- Your audio recordings. They are never uploaded to us.
- Your transcripts. They are generated and kept on your device.
- Any account, because the free tool does not require one.
What is downloaded to your browser
To transcribe on your device, your browser downloads a speech-recognition model the first time you use the tool. That download comes from a public model host. Your audio is not part of that request. The model is cached by your browser so later runs are faster.
Basic technical data
Like most websites, our hosting provider may process standard server logs such as IP address and browser type for security and reliability. If we add privacy-friendly analytics, it will count page views and feature usage in aggregate, without tracking you across the web, and we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.
If you use a future paid notes feature
We plan to offer a one-click AI meeting-notes feature. If you choose to use it, your audio will still never leave your device. Only the transcript text would be sent to an AI provider to generate the notes, and we will tell you exactly that at the point of purchase. That paid feature will require an account, and we will update this policy to describe the data involved before it launches.
Cookies
See our Cookie Policy. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies today. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first.
Your choices
Because we do not collect your recordings or transcripts, there is nothing on our side to export or delete for the free tool. You control your files on your own device. To clear the cached model, clear your browser cache.
Contact
Questions about privacy can be sent to the contact address published on the site. We will update this address before launch.
